Poker and the World Cup: GGPoker’s recipe for combining both

Whether you are a soccer fan or not, and whether you are familiar with the world of betting or not, the way in which GGPoker has integrated the upcoming World Cup into its poker tournament lobby will pique your attention.

Bet&Go tournaments will be the means by which the effects of what occurs on the field will be conveyed to the tables in real time and with many variables influencing its growth.

Each competition will correspond with a World Cup match, with involvement commencing upon registration. You will have the chance to pick your favorite team for that specific match, and you will get a discount on the tournament buy-in based on the probability of preference of each team.

The video will show it more clearly. The illustration shows a match between the Netherlands and Qatar, in which the European team is the obvious favorite. Therefore, if you choose to join up for the tulips’ side, the buy-in will be much more than for those who wager on the hosts, despite being lower than normal. The odds will change in real time based on the result of the game.

Choosing the lowest buy-in is not the only option, since if your team loses, you are ousted from the event.

The first actual instance is the Bet&Go Qatar-Ecuador tournament related with the first match. The event has a $10 buy-in and a $50,000 guarantee.

Those who are confident in the chances of the home team can enter the tournament for $3.63 (at the time the information was gathered by Pokernews), while South American fans will receive a discount that leaves the entry fee at $5.37, slightly higher because their team is slightly favored in the betting.

Each fluctuation of the score, which is monitored live on the screen, has innumerable ramifications. Players who believe their team is destined to lose may play wildly in an attempt to buy back at a tiny discount.

A goal in the last minute of a match may wipe out half a lobby in an instant, and anybody who correctly predicts an upset, which might be a draw between a modest club and one of the favorites, can obtain access to the guaranteed rewards with a very little buy-in. An incredible comeback in the last minutes of a match is possible.

In the case of a tie, no one suffers any losses. In any event, after the 90 minutes are over, even if it is a knockout, extra time will not be considered, and the competition will proceed according to its usual format.

Obviously, these events will not be accessible from Spain, since GGPoker lacks a license to operate in our country, but what do you think of the suggestion? To add excitement to a Japan-Costa Rica, perhaps?

EUROPEAN POKER TOUR Piqué appears in Prague to compete in the €50,000 High Roller

The former player did not want to miss the festival’s most costly competition, so he went to the Czech capital, where he has already spent two bullets and is in the battle.

Piqué apareció en Praga para jugar el High Roller €50K

Gerard Piqué, a former soccer player, world champion, recently retired tennis player, and entirely devoted to his new life as a businessman and ex-husband of Shakira, has not given up his enthusiasm for poker. If he played before he put up his boots, he plays much more today.

The Spaniard, instead of being in Qatar to watch the World Cup, traveled to Prague to participate in the European Poker Tour, where he did not want to miss the €50,000 Super High Roller event, the most costly of the festival. This Sunday, Pique entered the halls of the Kings Casino to battle against a formidable field.

Sam Grafton is the leader in chips.

Pique, one of the top poker players on the globe, was able to survive for a considerable amount of time, but he was eliminated on the last stage of the night as the tournament’s short stack.

However, on Monday he took advantage of the late registration and won again, and he is now attempting to achieve fame with his second €50k bullet.

The current partial pot is €2,376,990, and the chipleader is none other than Sam Grafton with 1,672,000, a gigantic stack of 279 big blinds with which he dominates despite the fact that it will not be easy for him.

In the count are, among others, the Brazilians Rodrigo Seiji (second with 965,000 points) and Pablo Silva (452,000), Daniel Dvoress (926,000), Orpen Kisacikoglu (712,000), and the Spanish athletes Juan Pardo (566,000) and Sergio Aido (552,000).

“nevermore dm,” a player from Belarus, won the Sunday Million.

The Sunday Million event at PokerStars has been a favorite in online poker for many years. This tournament has been luring poker players to the poker room for years with a consistent $1,000,000 guarantee.

Previously, the famous event was conducted with a buy-in of $215, but in 2019 it was halved and Stars was in favor of it since the $109 buy-in and $1 million guarantee attracted a large number of new players.

This time around, the event attracted 10,507 entrants (including 2,696 re-entries), exceeding the prize pool guarantee of $50,700. Not excessive, but very tangible.

A middle limit poker player from Belarus using the alias “nevermore dm” was able to defeat such a large field. Since 2006, the Belarusian has been a PokerStars regular.

In this event, “nevermore dm” triumphed and received the largest payout of his poker career to date, $54,620, in addition to $27,880 for eliminating his opponents.

The runner-up was a Danish gamer named “Pade25” who received comparable prize money to the winner but a considerably lower reward of $2,600. Ivan “ivan limeira” Limeira, a Brazilian poker player, placed third with $40,780 plus $11,700 bonus.

Limeira was the chip leader at the final table, but “nevermore dm” won the event with a small stack. Despite this, the Belarusian was able to double up on the Brazilian and become the stack leader. After a little period of time, he was able to defeat his opponents.

The last hand of the tournament started with a huge raid from “nevermore dm” holding Q-Q and was followed by an all-in from “Pade25” holding J-7. For the Belarusian, the call was immediate. The participants were dealt 2-9-A-4-8, and a Belarusian poker player named “nevermore dm” won the event. There were 1,711 participants with minimum payouts of $89 or more.
